Duae Qunoot

 After Isha prayer, until the last night. Witr prayer can be performed at any time. Doa Kunnat is a servant's private conversation with Allah. As a result of this supplication, Allah became pleased with the servant. He fulfills the desires of the servant. Released from all the dangers of the world.

Rasool (PBUH) used to pray Witr. Sometimes he would wake up his wife to pray witr. He recited Surah Alaa in the first rak'ah, Surah Kafirun in the second rak'ah and Surah Ikhlas in the third rak'ah. Sometimes he used to recite Surah Falaq and Surah Nas. (Bukhari, Hadith: 512, 997; Muslim, Hadith: 744; Musnad Ahmad, Hadith: 2720; Tirmidhi, Hadith: 462)

Kunut means silence, prayer, qiyam, worship etc. The purpose of Qunut is to pray to Allah while standing in prayer. In the five-time prayer, different prayers are recited including Surah-Qiraat, Darood, Tashahud, Doa Masura. It is necessary to read these in prayer. Another act like this prayer is Doa Kunut.

Rule of reciting dua kunut in witr prayer----

According to the hadith of Bukhari, the night prayer is two by two. At the end add 1 rakat to make witr (odd).

So how will 3 rakat? After reading two rakats, return the salam and then read 1 rakat according to the following rules. Or read the opposite of Maghrib, that is, after two rak'ats, instead of sitting, read 3 rak'ats and do one sitting.

Procedure - 1 Rakat Witr:

Witr is one rakat prayer on the last night.

'... one rakat who wants to pray witr can pray one rakat.' -

[Abu Dawud]

- Standing in prayer with the intention of witr is as good as a normal prayer,

- Reciting Auzubillah Bismillah etc.-

- Surah Fateha should be recited along with another Surah or verse as Qur'at.

- After that you should go to Ruku.

- Get up from ruku Sami Allah.. Rabbana Lakal Hamd. After reading etc., you have to raise your two hands like a prayer and recite "Dua Kunut".

- Again before Ruku, after matching the Surah, you can raise 2 hands and recite the prayer Kunut like prayer. Both are valid.

-Recitation of Dua Qunut is not essential (wajib). So even if you don't know it, you will get lost, but you should learn it.

- After reciting Qunut, then go to Sijd and perform two Sijds and perform Tashahhud meeting.

- After that, you should return salam by reciting Atyahiyatu, Durood, Dua Masura etc.

This is 1 Rakat Witr. Same as normal prayer.

In our country, the rule of raising hands to say Allahu Akbar before reading Kunut is not proven from Rasulullah (SAW). So after saying Allahu Akbar without raising your hands, recite Dua Kunut directly. While reciting kunut, it is mustahab to raise the hands as if praying.

And if you read kunut after ruku, do ruku after qirat, stand up from ruku after saying samiyallah huliman hamidah, rabbana lakal hamad and raise your hands like a prayer while standing and read kunut. When the Qunut ends, Allah says Akbar and goes to Sijda. Do not stand after performing two sajdahs (because you are reading 1 rakat of witir). Say Attahiyatu, Durood and other Duas and return Salam.

Is it obligatory to read kunut?

It is not wajib to read kunut. Because Rasulullah (SAW) did not always wear kunut in Witi Salaah. So we should sometimes omit dua kunut in witir salah, because that is the Sunnah of Rasulullah (SAW).
